Dear lord! It’s been ages and ages since I’ve posted anything on here.

In-depth was a burst of colour in the wet weak rain. I can’t really describe it without sounding corny. I just really appreciated the massive range of projects and the enthusiasm.

See, I also wanted to say something. Especially to the gr. 10’s this year.

Katie told you guys on the adventure trip that the 2008-2010 TALONS referred to ourselves as the Golden Age. When I originally used that term the first time last year, it wasn’t to ever compare with your year, darlings. A few minutes after claiming the Golden Age, I named you guys the Renaissance. (So stop feeding your bruised egos. There wasn’t ever a punch anyway. You know who I’m referring to.)

I think TALONS is a big RV and we drive it on adventures. But the great thing about this big RV is that every time another 15 (well, now 30) kids get on it, the bus morphs a little to accommodate everyone’s needs. Bigger larder, smaller windows… But the most important part of the RV is it’s ability to be tinkered and expanded by its occupants. The point is to bolt on a pair of wings, jack the engine to over 9000 horsepower, or add a water slide in the back and leave it  more wacky and unwieldy but useful and perfect than before.

Oh, you gr. 10’s did just that. And you added a horn that blasts theme song medleys.

You drove it on marvelous rainbow quests while showering seeds behind you and chirping like birds.

The alumni felt very nostalgic up in the balcony today.

Thank you so much for letting me hitch a ride on the back of the RV tonight. I miss that rolling turd as much as you will.

And so, here is your name: the Renaissance.
