Why The Frozen Tic Tacs?

On a lovely, sunny day near the end of school, two friends went on a walk to 711. They intended to buy some tic tacs as a treat before their final math test. After observing the shelves for several minutes, they managed to pick and purchase the passion fruit tic tacs and a fine purchase it was. They enjoyed their treat and pocketed the box only to later realize that the tic tacs were getting soft. Indeed, the tic tacs were melting: they needed to act fast.

And so, in a moment of of brilliance, the two friends put the tic tacs in the freezer and anxiously awaited the results. It paid off. The next day they had their first frozen tic tac- one of the best tic tacs they had ever had (and that’s saying something). It was truly a moment to celebrate

True story.

Now you may still be wondering: Why would 8 girls get together and name their blog “The Frozen Tic Tacs?” My answer has three parts to it: 1)tic tacs are amazing 2)The name captures your attention and 3)we’re all a little bit crazy. So simple and so true.

First things first. I don’t know if you have ever tried a tic tac, but if not, I would recommend going out to a store and picking some up. After all, “It’s not just a mint. It’s a tic tac.” They’re refreshing, tasty, less than 2 calories, easy to share with your friends, easy to steal from your friends, cheap, and just a simple treat to have. I personally, refer to them as my ‘chill pills’ and am commonly found eating them when stressed or nervous as well as the opposite, when I’m bouncy and hyper. However, I believe I speak for all my friends when I say tic tacs are a marvelous invention.

There are a whole lot of blogs out there and each one has it’s own name. But can you tell me that each of those names are actually interesting? No, I don’t think you can. Frozen Tic Tacs though… you can’t tell me you weren’t wondering (at least a little bit). It’s creative, innovative, and original, all the things you want in a good blog name. At the beginning, we had a long list of names brainstormed but this was the one that struck us bloggers and so here it is.

When naming our blog, we really wanted to capture some sort of essence of who we are. Turns out, that’s really hard to do in only a few words. And no, we aren’t frozen tic tacs. However, we are crazy (in the most wonderful-est of ways). There are eight bloggers on the frozen tic tacs and each of us have our own unique way of being crazy. Some are loud and some are subtler.  Crazy can involve strange noises, manic laughter, obsessions, funny faces, mannerisms, partial ditziness, tackling your friends, being ninja, being pirate, and so much more. And when we come together as a group, we are still our crazy selves. The name Frozen Tic Tacs can only represent a small part of this craziness, but it does represent it all the same.

Also, This blog ended up even being discussed when the 8 friends were talking about their upcoming summer adventures sometime in March. That lead to a dream to do something like the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Unfortunately, there were no jeans that could fit us all, and T-shirts were out of the question of the no washing rule. Plus, the mailing would be a difficult part too, so we came up with the idea of a blog. From that, it just stretched on until it became what it is today.
